How does contactless pickup/return work?

You choose the pickup/dropoff location of the vehicle and you'll receive the unlock code and access instructions up to 1 hour before the start of your scheduled trip after check-in is completed.

Depending on the vehicle, contactless access to the vehicle is via lockbox, hitch safe, door code, or remote unlock.

How much does it cost to rent a car?

Our rental prices vary based on factors such as car type, duration, location, weekday, weekend, seasonality, and supply and demand. To provide accurate rates, please go through the booking process to view each available vehicle and it's rates.

Are there any additional fees?

There are no hidden fees!

Every booking has a $200 fully refundable security deposit.  The state of Maryland has an 11.25% tax rate for car rentals.  Optional collision damage and liability protection is offered as well as child seats as extras.

Please review the terms of services for violation charges for late returns, excessive cleaning, smoking, etc.

What other requirements are there?

You must provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.  Driver's license must not be expired nor any restrictions applied that would prevent the primary driver from legally driving.  Insurance must be valid, must not expire during the reservation period, must meet minimum state liability requirements, and must be transferrable to rental cars.

How does BWI pickup/dropoff work?

For Pickup:

The vehicle will be delivered to Daily Garage ($12, covered parking).

The host will pull a ticket and leave it in the vehicle, the guest will pay via credit card upon exit.

For drop-off:

You park it at the Daily Garage, pull a ticket, and leave it in the vehicle. The host is responsible for paying this ticket upon exit.  Message the exact parking spot to the host via support@yourautohub.

BWI offers free shuttles to/from your airline's terminal and public parking lots. Shuttles run approx. every 15 min. and takes about 5-10 min to get you to your terminal (with multiple shuttle stops along the way).

Disclaimer: If you leave the vehicle unattended in an unauthorized location and local authorities have fined and/or towed the vehicle or any other fees incurred as a result, will be the responsibility of the guest and charged to you as a post-trip incidental.

Approx. 100 pre-trip photos are taken for every trip to capture every square inch of the vehicle for the protection of the guest and the host.

What if I don't have insurance or just don't want to use my own?

We cannot accept reservations without proof of insurance of the primary driver.  However, YAH is working with third party vendors for options that can be offered to guests to elect supplemental renters insurance.  Coming soon!

What is a faraday pouch?

It's an RFID blocking device. This ensures the vehicle can't be maliciously accessed, hacked, or started. These pouches are typically used with most contactless deliveries. Vehicles with proximity sensors can be activated if the key fob is nearby but a faraday pouch prevents unauthorized access.

What is your cleaning and sanitization process?

Cleaning and sanitizing are two different things!

Cleaning includes exterior and interior wash, vacuum, wipe windows, door jams, and occasional tire dressing.

Sanitization requires an appropriate chemical treatment of high tough areas such as door handles (including frunk/trunk), lockboxes, steering wheel, head unit, all buttons and levers on the dash, ceiling and seats, seat belt and buckle, and consoles.

We take great care in ensuring the safety of all guests.

How are tolls and tickets handled?

The host pays for all tolls and tickets upfront via the EZPass transponder equipped on all vehicles or by mail for parking/speeding tickets issued to the license plate. All incurred tolls will be invoiced to the guest as a post-trip incidental usually within 10 business days. If tickets are issued by mail, it could take up to 30 days. In rare cases, this could take up to 90 days depending on the billing cycle of the tolls/ticketing systems.

YAH does not own nor has any control over these systems.

What are you general guidelines?

NO Pets: Vehicle must remain allergen free for the safety of all guests. Allergen removal and deep cleaning fee is $250.

NO Smoking: Any signs or smells of smoking will incur a $250 cleaning violation fee.

NO Drugs: Any smell or sign of marijuana or other drugs will incur a $50 cleaning violation fee.

Return vehicle clean and with full tank. Alternatively, you can choose the pre-paid fuel option under Extras when you book.

What does it take to remove smoke/vape/pet allergens?

Replace cabin air filter, shampoo all carpet and headliners, treat all upholstery, including leather, ozone treatment, tablet deodorizing treatment, and/or odor bomb.  The entire process takes up to 6 hours.  It's important for guests not to violate these terms as it could have harmful effects on other guests and small children.  It could also result in cancellation of upcoming reservations which could cause significant disruptions in other guest's travel plans.

Are there any age or other restrictions on who can rent a car?

There are age restrictions for certain cars.  Proceed though the booking process to see what those are.  If there are restriction codes listed on your drivers license that prevent you from renting a car, as required by law, you can still make a reservation but someone else has to be listed as the primary driver.

Are there any discounts or promotions currently available?

Discounts are provided to most returning guests and promotions are ran throughout the year via social media.

What is YAH researching and developing?

YAH is researching and developing a referral system for the car share/private rental community in the DMV area.  Submit your interest via the Contact Us link at the top.

What area will this capability be available?

This will only be available to the DMV area initially.  Once the processes are fine tuned, we will roll it out to other areas.

What else is YAH doing?

YAH's plan of progression includes expanding the rental fleet, acquiring property near BWI with 150+ parking spots with an on-site car wash that will be available to all local hosts, and opening an on-site auto repair shop that is Turo-friendly.  This location will also become an OTJ training facility for new and upcoming Turo hosts.
